Tour Details

Take an exciting day tour from Dubrovnik and explore Mostar, a historic and culturally rich city in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Begin your full day tour of Mostar driving through the rich landscapes of the Neretva river valley. This river valley has a long and remarkable history where countries have warred in order to control the important trade route leading to the Adriatic Sea. Drive through Croatia and Bosnian countrysides and admire their breathtaking landscapes.

Arriving in Mostar, see cultural and architectural influences from East and West on your guided tour through the city. Beginning as a small trade settlement, this town was developed by the Ottomans in the 16th century. The city gets its name from the Old Bridge ("Stari Most") that crosses the Neretva River. An architectural feat in its time, the Old Bridge spans 90 feet and is considered a masterpiece of Ottoman engineering. While the original bridge was destroyed in 1993 due to artillery fire during the Bosnian civil war, a major rebuilding project was undertaken to restore the bridge and nearby buildings, allowing it to reopen in 2004. Walk across the Old Bridge and explore Old Town Mostar.

After your guided tour of Mostar, enjoy free time to explore the city on your own. Visit bazaars, old Turkish houses, and classic monuments that showcase Mostar's eclectic mix of cultures and history. Don't miss this tour of Mostar, the gem of the Ottoman Empire on this full day tour from Dubrovnik.
