Join fellow nature seekers on this landscape filled tour to the countryside of Ireland at Connemara National Park.
Leave the city of Dublin in a comfortable coach bus with your friendly guide and travel west to Galway. There, you will stop for a coffee break before heading back on the road to Connemara. The route to Connemara is very scenic, full of quaint little towns and lush countryside.
On your next stop, step aboard a boat for an hour and a half ride along the Killary Harbor, where you will get an incredible views of mussel beds, Ireland's only fjord, Killary Fjord, and a look at Mweelrea, the highest mountain in Ireland. During the winter months, instead of the boat cruise, you will get the opportunity to visit the Killary Sheep Farm, where you will be given a skilled sheepdog and turd cutting demonstration. You'll learn about how the people and their livestock are able to thrive on barren land during harsh weather.
Your next stop will be at the Kylemore Abbey, an historic building nestled at the bottom of Druchruach Mountain that once was a girl's boarding school and is now a retreat for nuns. On the north shore of Lough Pollacappul, this site is one of the most romantic in Ireland. Here you will have a photo stop so you can take in the romantic scenery. Before you continue to the breathtaking Inagh Valley.
Afterwards, you will visit Galway's City. Galway is one of Irelands beloved cities. Here you can enjoy the street performers and musicians during your time there. The Connemara tour ends back in Dublin. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to explore the natural wonders of Ireland.
Please Note: The boat cruise on Killary Harbour does not run during the winter months between November and March. Instead, a unique sheep dog and turf cutting experience on a traditional working mountain farm is offered.
