Tour Details

Chicagoís impressive skyscrapers are even more incredible at sunset. On this Chicago sunset tour, youíll paddle down the Chicago River as the sun goes down to see the city bathed in a gold light. The tour lasts three hours and provides scenic views of many Chicago landmarks while doubling as a good workout. If youíve never handled a kayak before, donít worry: no experience is needed for this Chicago sunset kayak tour.

The Chicago River is a 156-mile system of waterways that runs through the city; it connects the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. The river is so important that itís memorialized throughout Chicago; youíll noticed Y-shaped symbols on structures all around Chi-Town that represent the Chicago Riverís three branches. Thereís also a lot of tradition surrounding the river, especially around St. Patrickís Day. Each St. Patrickís Day weekend, the river is dyed green in celebration of the holiday.

Aside from learning about the riverís history, youíll get to see Chicagoís buildings up close. Chicago is considered the home of the skyscraper Ė and for good reason. The city contains more than 1,200 high-rise buildings, including the famous Willis Tower. The 108-story skyscraper is the tallest building in the United States; it was the tallest building in the world until it was dethroned by the Petronas Towers in Malaysia back in 1998. Trump Tower, Aon Center, and John Hancock Center are other mind-blowing skyscrapers you will encounter throughout your Chicago kayak tour.

Ready to see the city in a new light? Book your Chicago tour today for a unique view of the Windy Cityís stunning skyline.
