Tour Details

Spend three days enjoying the sights that south and southwestern Ireland has to offer. This southwestern Ireland train tour provides a convenient, stress-free way to explore this side of the country so you can get the most out of your Ireland vacation. Prepare yourself for three full days of natural beauty and stunning attractions.

On the first day of your south and southwestern Ireland bus tour, you'll take a train to Cork, the third-largest city in all of Ireland. From there, you'll make your way to the famous Blarney Castle; this medieval stronghold houses the ever-popular Blarney Stone, which is said to give the gift of gab to those who kiss it. After lunch on your own and some shopping, you'll head to Cobh. Visit St. Colman's Cathedral, then proceed along the sea front, past the former White Star line offices en route to the beautifully restored Victorian railway station / transatlantic terminal. There you will find the Cobh Heritage Centre, displaying artifacts from all facets of Irish History, including the Great Famine and the city's status as the last port of call for the ill-fated Titanic. Following a trip to Killarney for check-in at a bed & breakfast, you'll have the evening free to explore this quaint town.

The second day of your two-day Ireland tour takes you around the Ring of Kerry. Irelandís highest mountains are located in Kerry and Carrauntouhil, which can be seen en route. Make a stop at the Kerry Bog Village Museum, which will give you an insight into how people lived and worked in rural Ireland in the 18th century. The village is the only one of its kind in Europe. Later on the approach to Waterville, on a clear day there are views of the Skellig Rocks, where Star Wars 'The Force Awakens' was recently filmed. You will make several photo stops, a stop for lunch on your own, and one final stop at the pretty village of Sneem. An essential part of any visit to Ireland, this tour circles the magnificent MacGillycuddy Reeks and runs through its many passes and valleys along the shores of Dingle Bay and Kenmare Bay. The Ring of Kerry passes through the many picturesque villages such as Glenbeigh, Waterville, and Sneem, and returns via Ladies View, the famous Lakes of Killarney, and through the Oakwoods of Killarney's magnificent National Park.

The final day of your Ireland tour is spent traveling through the Dingle Peninsula. Considered by many to have some of Europe's most spectacular scenery, the peninsula also supports both a rare and unique assortment of flora and fauna. Once labeled "the most beautiful place on Earth" by National Geographic, this landscape contains a number of historical sites that will pique your interest. Gallarus Oratory, located on the peninsula's west side, is an early Christian church that looks like an upturned boat and overlooks the beautiful Ard na Caithne harbor. There are splendid views around Slea Head, especially of the Blasket Islands and the scattered rocks. After exploring the peninsula, you'll head to Killarney for a train back to Dublin.

Why rush through the country's many sights? Book this leisurely and comprehensive 3-day tour today for a relaxing time in southwestern Ireland.
