Tour Details

This Great Ocean Road tour from Melbourne takes you to Kennett River, Otway Ranges, Port Campbell National Park, Shipwreck Coast, and London Bridge. As you journey from place to place, you'll get a true taste of Australia's natural beauty.

Your Great Ocean Road eco tour begins as you travel by minibus along the winding road to Kennett River. This area is known for scenic coastal views and is one of the best places in Australia to see koalas in the wild. In fact, you are almost guaranteed to spot koalas in their native habitat. Stop for lunch at the foot of the Otway Ranges in the beautiful town of Apollo Bay, Australia. You will have time to explore the shops and the marina or to have a dip in the bay itself. After lunch, continue on to tour the Otway Ranges, where you can enjoy strolling along a rainforest trail. As you walk around, notice beautiful fern gardens and giant rainforest trees, some of which are 300 years old.

Next, tour Port Campbell National Park. The park is made up of an array of sheer cliffs overlooking offshore islets, rock stacks, gorges, arches, and blow-holes. The famous park is known for the Twelve Apostles, which is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the park. These limestone stacks are a very popular attraction because of their proximity to each other.

Your Great Ocean Road small group tour then visits the Shipwreck Coast to Loch Ard Gorge, the site of many shipwrecks just a short drive from the Twelve Apostles. Nearly 700 ships are believed to have been wrecked along the Victorian coast, but fewer than a third of them have been discovered. The Loch Ard Gorge is named from the Loch Ard, which went down in 1878. Because the area is incredibly beautiful, it will be interesting to see the good weather and the scenic coastline and know that things have turned rough in that very same area for many ship crews. Your final destination is London Bridge. The bridge is a natural arch and was formed by a gradual process of erosion and until 1990 formed a complete bridge. For a day full of natural beauty guided by an expert guide, skip the larger tours and join this small group adventure.
